Gathering insights on the latest in FinTech for the 3rd year running.
Spanning 3 days, 250 speakers, and 70 sessions, Singapore FinTech Festival 2018 — organised by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) — is back with massive scale and pace. From speakers such as Christine Lagarde, Chairwoman of International Monetary Fund, to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, more than 45,000 people from over 130 countries gathered to hear about the future of financial technology: artificial intelligence, insurtech, cybersecurity, and more.
Taking our usual graphic recording offering a step further, we constructed a 28m-long modular sketch wall with our illustrated visual summaries, and introduced virtual reality into the mix!
With the overwhelming amount of ideas emerging from 70 sessions, it was a challenge for festival delegates to separate insight from information. Not only was it physically impossible to attend 5 concurrent conference tracks, memory retention proved difficult amidst an information glut.
Delegates needed to share context and nuance — with speed and concision — across their social media platforms and international teams. Idea Ink’s 28m-long modular sketch wall, framed with Didier Jaba Mathieu’s graffiti, provided a unifying canvas of data points and a literal big picture of the entire festival.
It was an honour to meet luminaries from all over the world who are experts in their fields!
While physical story-telling presents a visceral experience that is both engaging and memorable, experiencing the graphic recordings in a virtual reality was novel and immersive. The virtual presentation is a first in the information design space, and successfully gave the delegates a unique, interactive, and curated experience of meta-insights across the entire festival.
