National Youth Council

Illustrating collaterals for events that support the youths of Singapore.

As Singapore’s national coordinating body for youth affairs, National Youth Council (NYC) organises programmes that support their mission of creating opportunities for all Singaporean youths. At their heed, we've wielded our trusty markers and digital pencils over the years to graphic record meaningful conversations with youths on issues concerning them, as well as discussions on how to bring youth mentoring to the next level.

CONVERSATIONS ON WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT

NYC organised a series of online conversations on how women can be empowered, protected, and uplifted in different domains — in school, at home, and at work. We attended the discussions and graphic recorded the key points emerging from multiple breakout groups. See our visual summaries below, and click on the headers to be redirected to Youthopia’s in-depth summaries of the conversations:

CONVERSATIONS ON SINGAPORE SPIRIT

In anticipation of Singapore’s 56th National Day, youths shared their thoughts on what defines the Singapore Spirit, and how we can remain resilient amidst the pandemic. We jumped in during the final session, illustrating highlights from group breakouts and the panel discussion moderated by Rishi Budhrani (comedian, host, actor) , featuring Edwin Tong (Minister for Culture, Community & Youth; Second Minister for Law), Brian Liu (NYC Council Member; Senior Vice President, People, Lazada), Fauzi Aziz (host & personality, The Smart Local) and Annette Lee (filmmaker, actress, singer-songwriter).

BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE:
VOICES OF ASEAN YOUTH FELLOWS 2021

In 2021, the ASEAN Youth Fellowship happened from 27 to 31st October, organised in partnership with NYC. Attending the discussion physically, we illustrated the ideas and recommendations from 33 ASEAN Youth fellows, representing all 10 ASEAN member states, on how ASEAN can be future-proofed for a sustainable future.

YOUTH MENTORING

The Mentoring Alliance for Action gathers individuals and organisations to establish a successful mentoring community.

In September 2021, we graphic recorded their first online conversation on Creating the Future of Mentoring Together, exploring suggestions and thoughts on youth engagement, training & resources, and partnerships.
